Attorney Salerno’s sharp instinct and reputation were forged in local courts. Before entering private practice, he served as a Temporary Assistant Clerk in the Waterbury Judicial District for two and a half years, working directly with state judges to gain an invaluable, behind-the-scenes perspective on judicial operations.

This depth of experience and commitment to leadership has earned Attorney Salerno peer recognition, including being named a Super Lawyers Rising Star, as well as positions of high responsibility. He is a former President of the Litchfield Bar Association and current Co-Chair of its Criminal Law Section, and he serves as the Court Liaison for the Connecticut Criminal Defense League Association (CCDLA) for Litchfield County. He is also an active member of the American and Connecticut Bar Associations, including the CBA Criminal Law Section.

Attorney Salerno devotes much of his practice to delivering results for Criminal Defense clients, providing a vigorous defense against state and local charges, ranging from motor vehicle offenses to serious felonies. His civil practice is equally focused, divided equally between Civil Litigation and Workers’ Compensation. In civil matters, he represents both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury and complex business disputes, while his dedication to those with Workers’ Comp claims ensures that injured employees receive the medical care and financial benefits they are legally owed.

A dedicated supporter of the community where he lives and works, Attorney Salerno has a long history of pro bono service and involvement with vital local organizations, including support for the Torrington Police Athletic League, Community Kitchen of Torrington, and the Children’s Center of New Milford. Outside the courtroom, he resides locally with his wife and two children. When he isn’t attending or coaching his children’s sporting events, he and his family enjoy traveling, hiking, and exploring the northwest Connecticut culinary scene.
